There are a variety of lessons with respect to 100G to be gleaned from this case study and Accolade’s general experience with 100G evolution. In the next few blog posts I will dig in to some of those details.
The first and perhaps simplest lesson is that like with any new technology, nothing ever happens as quickly as one would like. Leading vendors such as Accolade Technology are typically ahead of the technology curve and it usually takes customers a bit longer to catch up.This isn’t to imply however that what a vendor first releases is going to be the final product that gets adopted in the marketplace. In fact, quite the opposite; vendors must also iterate their product with necessary tweaks and improvements to fully satisfy customer requirements. 100G is no different and the accompanying graphic clearly illustrates four generations of 100G adapters from Accolade along with the pivotal flow classification capability.
