Why You Should Choose Accolade
We often get asked by customers and others: “What makes Accolade unique and why should we use your products?” There are myriad reasons to choose Accolade Technology but this blog will outline three reasons we think are most important to consider.
TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP
We pride ourselves on being ahead of the technology curve and developing the features and functions which our customers value the most. We could give many examples, but two key ones should illustrate the point. The first is our technology leadership in 100G. We were the first vendor to introduce a dual-port 100G CPU offload adapter back in early 2014 and are now on our fourth generation 100G adapter. The second is our advanced flow classification and flow shuntingcapability which we introduced in 2016 and is used today by a large percentage of our customers.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Intellectual property is just a fancy way of saying our engineers innovate and provide new features and functions which make our customer’s products more robust and more valuable. There are some vendors that just provide “raw” adapters that have an FPGA on them. It is then left to the customer to figure out what to do with that hardware. For most end-users this is a daunting task and that is where Accolade comes in. We also provide the hardware, but along with it our FPGA designers develop and support a variety of features and functions. For example, advanced flow classification and flow shunting, which we developed and is used today by a large percentage of our customers. We also often develop customer-specific features based upon our customer’s unique requirements. Feel free to ask us how we can design something for your next CPU offload needs.
TIME TO MARKET
We have all probably heard of “Not Invented Here” syndrome. The basic premise being that some development teams believe they can build any and all needed functionality themselves without relying on any third-party. This sometimes afflicts software development teams and leads them to believe that they can solve all problems in software rather than relying on third-party hardware. Sometimes it is true that throwing more software at the problem can solve (or at least improve) the problem but is that always the best approach? Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should, especially if it will take you more time (cost more) and perhaps force you to miss some time to market opportunity.
Accolade has accumulated vast expertise working with leading security and network monitoring vendors over the past decade and it may be worth your time to see how we can help cut your time to market with our ANIC FPGA-based adapters.
